Goals

To make progress, we have to know where we want to go and where
we are. The Board of Education established 5 specific goals showing where
we want to go. (Ron thinks the BOE actually adopted 2 goals, plus 3 things that
we need to achieve the goals).
We measure where we are with many objective indicators for each
goal.
These goals and the evidence of attainment are revised
annually.
Here are the goals:
Goal 1. All students will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to
meet graduation standards and achieve their potential.
Goal 2. All schools will be safe and inviting, with a climate that fosters
learning and character development.
Goal 3. All employees will be highly qualified, motivated and
effective.
Goal 4. All sectors of the community will be engaged in the education
of our children.
Goal 5. FCPS will advocate for adequate resources to achieve these
goals and manage these resources in a publicly accountable and cost-effective
manner.
